Simulation of Shaft and Bearing Interference Fit Using Axis Symmetric Model

An interference fit is a type of connection method used to connect parts in products or structures. It is also known as a press fit or shrink fit.  In this type of joint, the two connected parts are of slightly different sizes, the inside component is larger than the outside component, and this discrepancy holds the pieces together. This type of connection is used in various manufacturing and assembly operations. There is some deformation of the components after assembly, and pressure exists at the mating surfaces.

In this model, you will learn how the interference fit analysis performs in the Abaqus standard and how to convert complex real-world problems in the FE model to get fast precise solutions. It is typically a nonlinear analysis, and you can examine contact pressure and other relevant values on a FE model.
